Tasting Notes: Rich cherry and plum fruit that is spiced with oak notes of cinnamon and clove. 
More Info: The winery was named after Cloudy Bay, a body of water explorer Captain James Cook came across during his voyage to New Zealand in 1770. His discovery coincided with flooding in the region, which washed large amounts of sediment into the sea. Noticing the water’s opaque appearance, Cook cleverly christened the area Cloudy Bay.

Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes: A dark, scarlet red color, with powerful aromas of sweet ripe cabernet grapes. The wine is balanced, rich, expressive, and impressively complex.
More Info: Caymus Vineyards produces two Cabernets Sauvignons – a “Napa Valley” and the venerable “Special Selection”. Both Cabernet bottlings have aromas and flavors which can only be achieved through “hang time” – a technique which chances the loss of crop if early winter sets in. Leaving the fruit to “hang” on the vine unusually long develops suppleness, increases color, and matures the tannins of the grapes. Caymus Cabernets offer a wide array of aromas and flavors including cocoa, cassis and vanilla.
