Tasting Notes: Pure golden in color with nice clarity, capped by a bright white head of foam. Lightly sweet pils malt aroma with just a touch of fruitiness tending toward lemon. Mild sweetness, balanced well by the Hallertau hops which firm up and come in to dry out the finish. Light in body, but very smooth and creamy on the palate, it closes crisp, per the style.

More Info: Les Celliers de Meknès is a private company responsible for about 20% of Morocco’s wine production. The Appellation Guerrouane is a region of northern Morocco, located south of the imperial city of Meknès in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean. This area has been known for producing wines for more than 2000 years and certainly since the time of the Roman Empire. The vineyards are at an altitude of 550 metres and benefit from a dry, sunny climate and sandy soils giving subtle, easy to drink wines.

More Info: Beni M’Tir is a region of Morocco in the Atlas Mountains. The wines are created by carbonic maceration where each grape is fermented separately. Grapes are put into a large vessel, the yeast starts to consume the sugars inside each grape, and the carbon dioxide builds up in the grape causing the skins to pop. The juices run free and the resulting wine avoids the bitterness from grape seeds and skins.
